I’m not sure it really "trains" the brain. It’s more like a little self-deception, thinking I’m doing something useful by playing puzzles instead of other games. But I still like that stuff, like stretching the brain.

For me, I realized the best way to relax and take a break is by switching activities. Like, when you’ve been using your brain for a while, it’s way nicer and more effective to do something with your hands. I work from home, and one day I soaked almonds in water, then spent my break peeling the skins off each one. I know, weird example, but you have no idea how awesome I felt after those 5 minutes.

Maybe it’s just my opinion, but if there’s a game that actually trains your brain, it’s chess. Otherwise, I don’t think it really matters if you’re playing RPG games or solving puzzles. Just pick what you like and don’t worry about it. By the way, I found a lot of games that feel just like Flash games on playhop. I couldn’t believe it at first, it’s like I went back to my childhood.

Yeah, that totally makes sense. It’s not like you’re rewiring your brain into some genius mode, but more like giving it a satisfying little workout - kind of like mental yoga. It feels Retro Bowl productive, even if you’re just shifting tiles or solving word chains. There’s a difference between actually improving cognitive function long-term and just keeping your mind limber in the moment.

I think it's okay to "fool yourself a little" — as long as you have fun and it's still thought-provoking, it's still a valuable form Wacky Flip of entertainment!
